Winter Fun...

Can't believe I haven't created a post in forever now.... I had really wanted to post about our trip to Ohio....We had a really good time. We spent from December 18th to January 4th there. We spent time with our family and really got to enjoy the time there.. We got to see several friends we have not seen in a really long time. It really felt like old times except we all have added children into the mix now. But watching them play and have a good time seemed to be the focus of our time together now instead of what we use to do. We left Ohio in our early 20's and now it's been 10-11 years and everything seems to have changed a lot!! My children are my main focus right now, I believe how we raise them sets them up for the future and I hope we are creating a lifetime of good memories!!!

One of the most memerable things we did while we were there was Sledding,(something else we haven't done in about 15 years maybe longer.... We went to the old Jamestown dam with my Cousin Diana, and her family and my cousin Alex. It was the best time!!! Although we were very cold and layered with 3-4 layers of clothing it was still the ultimate best time!

Last night I had a horrible Migraine. I had already got sick several times before I made it back to my bed and could not move. Matt left for Wyoming last Monday so after a week as you can imagine 24/7parenting with no break there was some major tension. Only like a week to 10 days till a break.... Kids have been completely trying to take advantage.. Amazing how they do that uh? Although the minute they all seen me sick their tender hearts were exposed. Madisyn tried to doctor me with water and Tylenol. The boys just took charge to do what it took to keep things under control and quiet. This morning I woke up early and got the house back in order and not long after I got a minute to sit down Matthew came down and walked over to me, and began to rub my back. He said "Mom, are you feeling better?". Anyone who knows Matthew knows he's never been an affectionate child. I was just extremely touched. Just the fact that, that was the first thing he wanted to check on as soon as he got up. Even though they may totally drive me crazy, they have some of the most tender loving personalities I have ever seen!!!

Jacob's Prize

  • Jacob went hunting with his dad last night and came out with a little doe. He called mom and with so much excitement in his voice said"Mom, I shot a deer!". He was very proud,as I was also. When they got home...they gutted it( YUK) and ground up the meat. Jacob was a little intimidated but you could not get the smile off his face. Then this morning I went into wake him up and he said "No mom No, this great hunter needs some sleep!!!" I thought I was going to die. He sure let this one go to his head!!! Guess we know who's child he is.???

Moving into Fall time.

Well can you believe it, It's officially fall time??? Where did our summer go? I don't feel like we got one this year. This past weekend we spent at the beach with my brother and his family, we all had a good time. The children enjoyed playing and getting to know their cousins better. The weather was perfect!! We walked on the beach, played in the pool, did some shopping (yes I even got some Christmas shopping done) and just relaxed. It's so hard to believe that Christmas is just around the corner.

Hunting and football season has officially started as well, so I guess I'll spend the next few months as a windowed woman. Although I don't mind to much it is a great joy to me to get to see my loved ones do their hearts passion!!!

Homeschooling is off and started. We are doing OK. The children are trying to find out how hard they can push mom this year, so far it's not working!! I'm going to be starting a new strict schedule next week to keep everyone straight. I feel like that is so important with children!! It keeps them online for their future to be responsible and accountable for their time management. I have talked with Matt about making a huge room in our attic into a new school room. He has agreed and we are off and started on that. We have got the window in and most of the stuff gone through and cleaned out. Now if he can just find time in between hunting and football. I think this will help us out tremendously!!!

Well be blessed till next time,,,......

Our new puppy..

So we have had our new addition to our family for a full two weeks now. "Sasha"... she has been a true blessing to us even though she has been a full pain in the butt. Anywhere you walk in the house she chases behind biting with razor blade teeth the back of your heals. She requires lots of attention or she will NOT shut up but only when she wants to be held otherwise she will try to do a back flip out of your arms. I'm proud to say we have only had 2 accidents in the house but we are working on that. The other two dogs don't know what to think about her. Patches doesn't want her no where near him but Bailey on the other hand will tolerate her a little bit better. She likes to bite on Bailey's ears which in return Bailey will snap at her. The kids always rush in to get her in the morning. Sasha is the cutest chocolate Cocker Spaniel around....

Summer has started

Well summer has officially started. Matthew and Madisyn has started their practice for competition gymnastics. Matt and Jacob have taken a trip to Wisconsin to visit family. We have already made it to Carowinds once this year, which was a great time. Pool is open and plan on spending a good bit of time there.
Two weeks ago I started a new weight loss plan which I hope to be life changing. God has sent a doctor my way to help me out this time. I go to see him once a week for him to monitor my accomplishments. As of my appointment last week I lost 5.5lbs. I'm hoping I can keep up loosing more and more each week. No carbs in a whole new world for me. I realize I am in love with carbs but I'm breaking free of that. I have to pray each morning for self-control and I believe that's the most life changing part!!!
We added to our family this week...Sasha. She is our new chocalate Cocker Spaniel. She very cute and has an amazing personality. Bailey and Patches seem to think she is a litlle to hyper to play with them, but they are warming up. She seems to be getting this whole potty training thing down. We have had no accidents yet. I was so surprised to see that even when I woke up the last two mornings there was nothing and she waited to go outside YAY!! She is already so spoiled.

Best Buy Trip

So you know how children are... I love to post things like this so that I can show my kids how crazy they were when they are older.
So we went to Best buy last Saturday because my husband wanted to buy me a new laptop for my birthday...We took the kids and my father that was in town with us 1st mistake!! We were standing there looking when Matt flagged down a man that worked there to get his opinion of what we should buy mistake #2... The man he flagged down that came up was not in your normal Best Buy attire...He was dressed more like an officer and had a badge on that said "Geek Squad" OH YES Mistake #3.. So Matt began talking to him and asking questions when Jacob caught my eye. He was starring at that badge and I just knew it was coming........So guess what happened next???? You got it he just couldn't let it go!!!! He eased his way in between this man and his dad and asked "Are you the President of the Geek Squad?" the man responded no I'm just the supervisor. I see Matt's face got a little red and he just hung his head. Oh yes there is more. Matt keep talking and asking questions........... and as mom I sat back and just seen those wheels a turning, you'd think I'd come to Matt's rescue and remove him from the situation but no I felt I have had to deal with this many times before it was his turn.....he he That was bad of me!!! So next he asked "So are all the members of the Geek Squad nerds???" Matt so so embarrassed yet laughing the whole time because Jacob had the most serious look on his face. He was serious. I think that was the first time in 31 years I seen my dad get so embarrassed to walk away, yet still laughing. Did they not see that all the laughing was egging him on??? So glad I will never see that man again!!! I'll have to remember when he gets much older and has his own children and deals with this I'll have to bring this one up!! Where did he get this from??? Must have been his dad!!
